Funding Priorities:
Projects to have a community or environmental benefit that is long lasting.
- To bring the community closer together through facilities for sport, recreation and other leisure time activities.
- Offer environmental improvement and/or heritage conservation.
- Improve awareness of environmental issues through environmental education
- Encourage and/or protect wildlife
The fund does not award grants for
- purchase of land or buildings, or for repair and maintenance work, however, specific items of community benefit may be allowed, such as security or adaptations for disabled use.
- general administration, running costs, salary and coaching costs
- political parties, commercial organisations or those working for profit
- grants will not be awarded for projects which have already been carried out or paid for
- Organisations with statutory responsbilities, such as local authorities, schools, hospitals, surgeries or clinics, are not currently eligible unless the project is over and above their core activities and statutory obligations.
